Church is Unusual
It’s traditional to be out of the ordinary. That’s the whole point. Sunday should be different. Thoughtful. Refreshing. Soulful. Spiritual. Redeemer is a place to look back at the past week, and look forward to the next and say, “we are part of something challenging, inspiring, and divine.” Such is the Way of Jesus.
Small is Beautiful
We’re a small church. A community where you won’t get lost in a crowd. You can get to know your neighbor in the pew. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and familiar. Our small groups are friendly and fun. It’s what church used to be. And still is.
Singing is Spiritual
Are you a soprano? Base? Baritone? Or just a well-rehearsed shower-singer? Well, to be frank, God doesn’t care. If you have music in your soul we want you to come and sing with us. It’s the spirit being celebrated. Sometimes softly. Sometimes out loud!
Faith is Wonderful
How do we think about God? Feel about God? Experience God? At Redeemer, our spiritual intuition and Lutheran tradition help us experience God as present, compassionate, both ancient and fresh. And nothing stands in the way of heart-felt faith. Both clergy and laypeople kneel before the same rights, responsibilities and blessings. Belief knows no titles.
Community is Critical
Loneliness. There, we said it. Despite all our new means of communication there’s an epidemic of loneliness in this country. The remedy is community. And we’ve been helping to form and connect good humans since 1963. You push past that moment of awkwardness and say hello to your neighbor. Pray with your neighbor. Talk to your neighbor. It’s simple. People connecting with people, on God’s front porch.

Diaper Derby Dinner, October 17
Let’s Help Local Families Together!
Did you know that some people in Manatee County have to choose between food and diapers for their babies? Help us help local families by bringing diapers (sizes newborn to 5) to our Diaper Derby Dinner.
We’ll be serving meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, salad, and dessert. All we need now is YOU!
Admission is one pack of diapers or cash equivalent. Serving from 4:30-6:30pm.
Celebrating God’s Beautiful Creation in Worship.
Beginning with Sunday, September 14, Redeemer will be celebrating the Season of Creation through Sunday, October 5 (10:00am service time).
Our readings, hymns, and message will reflect such a focus on the beauty of the land, sea, and sky around us, as well as the amazing creatures that walk the earth alongside of us.
Each week we’ll have guests from local ecological organizations like Keep Manatee Beautiful, the Palma Sola Botanical Gardens, and the Humane Society of Manatee County.
Blessing of Animals, OCtober 5
Bring your pets to worship for a blessing!
We welcome your friendly and leashed, caged, or crated pets for a blessing as we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis during the Season of Creation.
Have you ever experienced a service with pets included? It can be amazing how they seem to know they’re in sacred space. If your dog is friendly and leashed, or your cat, rat, guinea pig, hamster, or bird are happy in their cages or carriers to join us - we welcome you all!
