Church is Unusual

It’s traditional to be out of the ordinary. That’s the whole point. Sunday should be different. Thoughtful. Refreshing. Soulful. Spiritual. Redeemer is a place to look back at the past week, and look forward to the next and say, “we are part of something challenging, inspiring, and divine.” Such is the Way of Jesus.

Small is Beautiful

We’re a small church. A community where you won’t get lost in a crowd. You can get to know your neighbor in the pew. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and familiar. Our small groups are friendly and fun. It’s what church used to be. And still is.

Singing is Spiritual

Are you a soprano? Base? Baritone? Or just a well-rehearsed shower-singer? Well, to be frank, God doesn’t care. If you have music in your soul we want you to come and sing with us. It’s the spirit being celebrated. Sometimes softly. Sometimes out loud!

Faith is Wonderful

How do we think about God? Feel about God? Experience God? At Redeemer, our spiritual intuition and Lutheran tradition help us experience God as present, compassionate, both ancient and fresh. And nothing stands in the way of heart-felt faith. Both clergy and laypeople kneel before the same rights, responsibilities and blessings. Belief knows no titles.

Community is Critical

Loneliness. There, we said it. Despite all our new means of communication there’s an epidemic of loneliness in this country. The remedy is community. And we’ve been helping to form and connect good humans since 1963. You push past that moment of awkwardness and say hello to your neighbor. Pray with your neighbor. Talk to your neighbor. It’s simple. People connecting with people, on God’s front porch.

Two evenings of singing, fellowship, and prayer

Remember the joy of singing hymns together? Miss the sense of community but not sure about traditional worship? Beer & Hymns offers a relaxed, welcoming space to reconnect—with music, with others, and maybe with God.

We’ll gather to sing familiar hymns and spiritual songs, enjoy beer (and other sudsy soft drinks) and snacks, share prayer requests, and take a few moments to reflect on what it means to quench our deeper spiritual thirsts.

No heavy sermons. No pressure. Just songs, suds, and sincere hospitality.

All are welcome—churchgoers, church-missers, and church skeptics alike.
